The starry-night stone — honest disclosure

The center is blue galaxy sandstone, also called blue goldstone — a man-made art glass with tiny copper crystals suspended in deep cobalt glass to mimic a starfield. We're upfront that it's man-made, not a natural mined gem; it was created centuries ago specifically to capture the look of the night sky, and nothing natural quite reproduces that glitter. Because sandstone is softer (about 7 Mohs), we offer a free upgrade to a natural blue sapphire center at no additional cost for maximum durability — just leave a note at checkout. Sizing & care

Galaxy sandstone is softer (~7 Mohs) and prefers gentle care — avoid hard knocks, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic or steam cleaners; clean with a soft, barely-damp cloth. (The optional natural sapphire center is far harder at 9 Mohs.) Both rings should be ordered in the same size; please reference our sizing guide before ordering.
